How can we help?
A quick guide to getting started, and answers to the questions we hear most.
Quick start
- Allow notifications. Kizura reminds you with notifications, so allow them when asked. You can also do this later in Settings.
- Add your people. Tap + on the People tab, or import the contacts you choose. Add a birthday, and an anniversary if there is one.
- Look at the plan. Each birthday appears on the Occasions tab with a plan. Open it to see the steps and when you’ll be reminded.
- Add what they love. Likes, sizes and favorite stores help you, and the AI gift ideas, choose something they’ll enjoy.
- Follow Up Next. The Home tab shows the next occasion and today’s step. Mark steps done as you go.
Plans and reminders
A plan is the list of steps for one occasion. A playbook is a reusable plan, such as the Birthday Gift Plan: six weeks of steps from collecting ideas to noting how they liked the gift.
Kizura chooses a playbook for new birthdays and anniversaries. Change the default in Settings › Reminders, or change one occasion’s plan from its page with Change Plan.
Open a step to edit its title, its day and time, or to turn its reminder off. From a notification you can mark the step done or ask to be reminded tomorrow.
Plans repeat every year. After the last step, the plan resets for next year.
To stop reminders for an automatic birthday or anniversary without deleting the person, open the occasion and choose Stop Planning. Resume it any time from the Paused section.
Gifts
Save ideas from a person’s page or the Gifts tab. Move each one from Idea to Shortlisted, Purchased, Wrapped and Given.
Shop opens a store search for the idea in your browser. For a product link from a Shopify store, Buy opens that store’s own checkout with the item in the cart. You always review and pay on the store’s site.
Set Order Reminder adds a step to the occasion’s plan, early enough for shipping plus two days.
After the day, add the gift to Past Gifts with how they liked it. Kizura warns you if a new idea looks like something you already gave.
Sync and backups
iCloud Sync (Settings › iCloud) keeps Kizura the same on your iPhone and iPad through your private iCloud. It is off until you turn it on.
Backups: Settings › Your Data › Export a Backup File saves everything to a file you can keep anywhere. Import it on any device. Backup files aren’t encrypted, so keep them somewhere safe.
Delete All Data removes every person, occasion and gift from this device and from iCloud Sync. Backups made with Back Up Now stay in iCloud until you delete them in Backup History. It can’t be undone.
Questions
Is Kizura really free?
Yes. You can add up to 8 people, and every birthday and anniversary on their profiles gets a plan with reminders. Kizura Premium adds unlimited people, AI gift ideas, unlimited occasions of your own, custom playbooks, every widget and alternate icons.
Are there ads?
No. Kizura has no ads and no advertising or analytics software of any kind.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Purchases belong to your Apple Account, and Restore Purchases brings them back on a new device.
Where is my data?
On your device. If you turn on iCloud Sync, it is also stored in your own private iCloud so your iPhone and iPad stay in step. We can’t see it.
What happens to my data if I get a new iPhone?
Turn on iCloud Sync, or export a backup file from Settings › Your Data and import it on the new device. An iPhone backup restores it too.
How do the AI gift ideas stay private?
They are generated by Apple Intelligence on your device. No request is sent to us or to any AI service. When you tap Shop, your browser opens a store search with only the product words, like “cast-iron pizza pan”.
Which devices support AI gift ideas?
Devices that support Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. Everything else in Kizura works on any iPhone or iPad with iOS 27 or later.
Why didn’t I get a reminder?
Check that notifications are allowed: Settings › Notifications › Kizura. In Kizura, Settings › Reminders shows the status and can send a test notification. A Focus can silence reminders unless a step is marked Time Sensitive.
Can I change when reminders arrive?
Yes. Settings › Reminders sets the time for new plans, and you can open any step to change its day or time, or turn its reminder off.
Does Kizura send messages for me?
Never. It drafts a message and opens Messages; you decide whether to send it.
Does Kizura buy gifts for me?
No. It opens the store, and you review and pay on the store’s own checkout. Kizura never sees your payment details or your order.
How do I cancel Premium?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or Settings › Kizura Premium › Manage Subscription in the app. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and never renews.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
What does “Kizura” mean, and how do you say it?
Say “kee-ZOO-rah”. It’s a name we made from two words: kizuna (絆), Japanese for the bonds between people, and premura, Italian for thoughtful care.
Does it work on iPhone Duo?
Yes. Kizura adapts to the cover screen when iPhone Duo is closed and shows a two-column layout when it is open. These layouts arrive in a free update when iOS 27.1 is released; until then Kizura runs on iPhone Duo in its iPhone layout.
